Bridges have been a part of dentistry throughout history. Missing teeth can be replaced with a "fixed" bridge. A "fixed" bridge is one that is not removable. It stays in your mouth permanently. Bridges replace missing teeth and are supported by the existing teeth surrounding the space. Those teeth are shaped to receive crowns. The crowns are attached to a replacement bridge tooth. The bridge is then cemented to the crown teeth. The obvious advantage of this type of bridge over a removable partial is that it's not removable. It stays in place. It is very cosmetically pleasing and looks natural. If you live in Boynton Beach or the greater Palm Beach County area and would like to replace missing teeth in a way that looks and feels great, give us a call at Palm Beach Smiles.
